Kia Ora. I am a Year 6 student in Te Kauru at Paparore School. My blog is a collection of my work at various stages, across different curriculum areas. Throughout my time at Paparore School I may share draft copies of my work for feedback and feedforward. Other times I will share my final published pieces.

Te Manu Huruhuru O Te Kura O Paparore
WALT we are learning to be awesome kuaka of paparore
We had to get a piece of paper with feathers on it. We had to put words in block letters on the feathers. Than I had to see if it was good with Mr Masters. Than I world color it in. Than as soon as i was done I gave it to Mr Masters. And then I started another sheet .And did the same process. Then I gave it to Mr Masters when i was done. So then I started with another sheet this one was just the same but with no words. The kuaka represents the children in the school. Like when they are in te kakano you are a hatchling in te tinana you’re still a hatchling and the next class your a baby bird. And that's all I remember.
It was hard to do my feathers because we had to do block letters and at first I didn’t know how to do block letters.
How do you do block letters?

WALT we are learning about matariki
Matariki is the closest cluster of stars that i know off . Matariki is a name for a cluster of stars. matariki is visible in our quiet night sky at a specific time of the year also. Matariki used to only have 7 stars but 2 more came along to make 9. Its first rising ever was in late may or early june.Matariki is found low on the horizon in the north east of the sky.
My art was not to hard but it was still hard because you had to dab the Blake paint and it would move the stars and make it look off so i had to try and make it look right somehow
i have a Question How many matariki stars dose your town/city/country have
